Rest event 0x80
Represents a rest.
Syntax
0x80, byte duration // normal
0x80, ushort duration // in 16-bit duration mode
0x80 // in default duration mode
Parameters
| Parameter | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| duration | byte / ushort | Length (ticks). Omitted in default duration mode. A big-endian 16-bit value in 16-bit duration mode |
Description
Keys off the channel, sets the pitch of that DSP channel to 0, and then waits for duration. On a BGM channel under SE interrupt, it only waits without writing to the DSP.
The length of a note event includes 1 tick of silence after it sounds, so there is no need to insert a rest just to separate notes. For details, see Note event.
